Message from 2014 Sea Cavalcade Committee
Over the years, many dedicated people have poured their volunteer efforts into making this happen every year. Their efforts have resulted in the most popular coast festival of the year for families. This year is the same — a dedicated group of volunteers has taken on the huge task of organizing, funding and implementing this wonderful festival that you can now plan to attend. We thank the support of the Town of Gibsons, the SCRD and now the B.C. Gaming Commission as well as many local businesses and citizens.
We have been able to reinstate Saturday night fireworks and on Sunday the demonstration Logger Sports show for your enjoyment. We also will have new events: Philippine's dancers, fun weight lifting, animation by Gerardo Avila magic comedy and masks, fire dance show, martial arts, Vancouver Aquarium display, family concert of local talent at the Clamshell on Saturday evening.
We still need some of you to come and help for a few hours of the weekend. ESPECIALLY, WE NEED HELP WITH TRAFFIC CONTROL DURING THE PARADE and HELP WITH SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES. PLEASE HELP! Contact Margarethe at 604-886-0498. This should not be the last Sea Cavalcade, but, without many volunteers, it is not possible to do our many activities.
